Trust Him Endlessly

Mark 13:11
“But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.”

We have all done it. A job interview is coming up and we rehearse potential conversation directions. There is no way to consider every “what if” scenario that might present itself during that interview. Yet, we will still spend hours preparing ourselves. It is the nature of humanity to worry about the future. What will I say in this moment; what do I do in this one? Though the desire to be prepared is healthy, if we are not careful, it can invite a weight upon us that is not ours to carry.

Jesus teaches His disciples here to trust in the Holy Spirit’s guidance. There is no need to attempt to construct solutions to every potential crisis. Whether it is an upcoming interview or a Jesus guided mission, here is the reality. Jesus already knows. He knew you in your mother’s womb. He knows you now. He knows every conflict and obstacle you will encounter in this life, and He has not left you alone in this battle.

Perhaps God is nudging you in a direction that feels incredibly uncomfortable. Know today that while it is wise to prepare, you don’t need all the answers. God is with you, guiding each step you take. Take Him by the hand, and follow after Him, allowing His foot steps to guide yours. Don’t rehearse endlessly, trust Him endlessly!
