Don’t Throw It Away

Hebrews 10:35
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”

Life happens. No matter who we are or what we do, we will all encounter difficult moments in this life. We encounter suffering, uncertainty, loss, disappointment, and so much more. And even if we know the truths of God’s word, it does not necessarily make it easy to walk through the storms of life. The writer of Hebrews addresses believers facing persecution, suffering, and uncertainty. In the middle of these challenges, they are reminded not to throw away their confidence!

Confidence is essential to the Christian life, yet it doesn’t start with the believer. It starts with who God is. We must believe that God exists, that he loves us, cares for us, and remains faithful to His word. We also must recognize who we are in Him. We are made in His image, redeemed by His grace, and empowered by His Spirit. You see, confidence does not come from our own abilities. Our confidence is not in ourselves, but in who God is and who He has empowered us to be. Our confidence is not in our own abilities apart from God; it is rooted in Him and expressed through faith.

Confidence does not come from the circumstances around us. It comes from the God above us and our willingness to trust Him. So let me urge you today: REFUSE TO THROW AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE! God has not forgotten you. He has not abandoned you in your circumstances. He is still working all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. He is still working things out. Trust Him today. He has not failed yet, and He shall not fail now.
